Haiti Update 2
Haiti Team Update
The past five weeks have flown by! Having the teams here has been wonderful..such a blessing to the mission and the people here in Ruuska Village. Here are a few things we have been able to help out with:
Trip to Canaan two, a tent village about ten minutes away that houses about 3000 families. We were able to have a time of worship and children’s outreach to about 200 of the kids living there. We also passed out food and soccer balls. It was pouring rain, which did not dampen spirits, but did waylay a soccer match or two.
Organized and cleaned the food depot, allowing us to easily supply food to the people in the village, as well as those from the surrounding community.
Medical Clinic in a local hospital/tent village. We were able to see about forty families - treating, passing out meds, baby supplies and food. What an incredible opportunity.
Helping with a ton of construction – wiring of electricity to new buildings, framing and pouring concrete for a new roof, creating a sifting contraption that will save on days worth of labor costs, started stuccoing a new room in a new building, had input in the layouts and blueprints of new building plans and so much more.
Weekly food distribution, etc.
Lots of daily opportunity to play and love on the kids and women in the village.
Rockin’ times of team devos and worship.
There is a lot to be thankful for..so much to praise God for. There have been no major health or safety issues. God has truly supplied all of our needs. There has been a ton of opportunity for evangelism and building of relationships. We have been able to work and bless the mission, enabling the work here to go on. Thank you so much for your continued prayers! Please keep brining it on!
